If only we knew who we are, all miseries would end.

If only we knew who we are, all miseries would end in that very moment.

There is a type of conflict going on between my husband Sameer and me. He has revenge and hatred towards me and I pity him and feel sad for him and in my own way I still love him as I love everyone else. My kids Nabha and Nirad are with me and their grandfather, whom we all call Anka, is with Sameer.

Nabha, my daughter asked Anka that why he supports Sameer even after knowing that Sameer is wrong. Anka replied that if anything happens to him then Sameer only will take care of him.

Fear of death and ill health is making him Dhritrashtra. All faults of Sameer are being put below the carpet and only what Sameer says is what he wants to see and believe for his fear that he has only Sameer.

If Anka would have read and understood Gita, he would understood that we are not body and that we are souls. He would not have feared his ill-health, and be would not have supported the wrong.

There is a time for everyone and there is a freedom of choice that everyone has, to make or break his/her life.

My life has also changed. I remember there was a time in my life that I also feared death. I stayed alone for almost 10 years. Initially when I was cut off from people, I would fear that no one cares for me and even if I die, no one will come to know and my body will stink. Then the neighbours would doubt that I died and will break my flat doors to find my body. Lol. All such silly thoughts I would dwell in. That time I was not aware of who I am. I had not known that this body is not important because we are not the body, we are not the mind, we are not even the intellect. We are the immortal and indestructible soul.

Just by knowing who we are, our entire life can change.

Through this post, let's look at few Geeta shlokas which can help transform the life positively and help in giving a proper direction to life.

Bhagwad Geeta shlokas from chapter 2:

विनाशमव्ययस्यास्य न कश्चित्कर्तुमर्हति || 17||

Translation:

(O Arjuna!) Know that Atma by which the whole universe is pervaded is indestructible. No one can cause the destruction of the imperishable.

Translation:

These bodies which belong to the real imperishable, unknowable Atma are said to be subject to an end; therefore fight, O Arjuna!

Translation:

Atma is not born, nor does it ever die; after having been it does not cease to be, unborn, eternal, changeless and ancient, it is not killed when the body is destroyed.

Translation:

Weapons cannot cut, fire cannot burn, water cannot wet, wind cannot dry up this Atma.

Translation:

The Atma cannot be cut, cannot be burnt, cannot be wetted, and also cannot be dried up. It is eternal, all-pervading, firm, immovable, and ancient.

Translation:

This self is unknowable by the senses, unthinkable by the mind, and is not subject to any kind of change. Knowing this, you should not grieve.

Translation:

For to that which is born, death is certain, and to that which is dead, birth is certain. Therefore you should not grieve over the unavoidable.

Translation:

O Arjuna! The Self existing in the body of all beings is never slain. So it is not right for you to grieve for any creature.

Bhagwad Geeta says:

1. That we are not the body, we are the soul

2. We can't die. The soul is eternal, indestructible and immutable

3. Nothing and nothing can harm us

4. Dont grief for the body

5. One who takes birth is sure to die and after death there is again birth

If we just understand who we are, our all miseries will end in the same moment. If only we know, if only we have clarity, if only we have true knowledge and light......
